Mark's stands out in Canada's crowded apparel market for its commitment to comfort, quality, style and innovation. Although the company's roots are in industrial work wear which remains a core category, Mark's is known today for outfitting Canadian men and women with casual and active wear for everyday living. Their clothes are engineered for functionality, wearability and style. Mark's reputation as an innovative retailer resonates with their customers and has helped Mark's grow from a single store in 1977 to 385 stores across the country.

Smart Clothes, Everyday Living

It's a slogan that exemplifies Mark's unwavering ambition to make everything they touch work and feel better for the average Canadian. This dedication is driven by three core values: Respect for people, product integrity and continuous improvement. This means empowering their employees, earning customer loyalty and consistently striving toward growth and improvement.

Transition Strategy

geekspeak met with Mark's core stakeholders to discuss their evolving brand and create a custom needs analysis. geekspeak assisted in mapping out a game plan to facilitate the company name transition from Mark's Work Wearhouse to Mark's in their online environment. This strategy included retaining Mark's legacy customers who valued the company for its work wear, while attracting new customers to their clothing styles for everyday living. A constant throughout the process was a focus on clothing designed for comfort, performance and innovation.

Product Descriptions

Once strategy was complete, geekspeak created a style guide for the new marks.com and continues to create all product descriptions on a seasonal basis, for marks.com. The content submission process has evolved to meet changing technologies and includes converting source data from worksheets and PDFs into SEO-optimized content.
